Radius MS19 & MS20 MS Double Mic Clips
Radius recently sent over the new MS19 and MS20 RAD MS double Mic Clips and we were hyped to test them out!
We’ll be using the MS19 clips with the Rycote Mid Side setup inside the Mini Alto 115 and Mini Alto 180 blimps. Let’s take a closer look.

What do you get in the bag?
A single MS pack comes with 2x MS double mic clips, 4x safety straps, 2x 8mm inserts for holding MZL or Lemo connectors in the rear mic clips and a small paper handout with some additional information on it.

The MS double mic clips have been designed to fit onto pre existing RAD shock mounts. For my setup I have used the black hoops facing inwards with the MS19 clips as these are the snuggest fit for the Rycote SC-08 & BD-10 microphones.

I really like the additional safety straps included in the kit. When I'm recording handheld with an MS rig I find myself swinging the setup around a lot. I previously had to gaff tape my microphones securely in place to avoid them sliding backwards and forwards on the 3D printed mounts. The safety strap on the Radius ones hold the microphones tightly in place so this is no longer an issue.

Adjusting the Mounts
You might have noticed the screws in the middle of the mounts too. If you loosen this screw you can adjust the angle of the lower mic clip to get perfect vertical alignment. This is a lovely addition as some microphones can slightly differ in size.
Below I have setup the Sennheiser 416 with the Rycote BD-10. Two slightly different sizes from different microphone brands.
