Our Story
Rare Finds Sound Design (RFSD) was founded by Oliver Menadue, a Sound Artist from the rolling hills of Devon, UK.
"Funny thing is, Rare Finds Sound Design never used to be called Rare Finds Sound Design. It actually started life as Menedh Du, the original Cornish spelling of my second name 'Menadue' meaning black hill. That was waaay back at university when I was using Menedh Du as my music alias.
After many years of people struggling to spell Menedh Du and more time spent on content creation, I decided to update the name in 2024 to Rare Finds Sound Design or Rare Finds for short, or the even shorter RFSD.
The name Menedh Du ain't dead and buried though. It's still my music name (if I ever make more) and if you look closely, you can see how 'black hill' inspired the RFSD logo."
Our Mission
We realised filmmakers and editors weren't struggling with creativity, they were struggling with SOUND. So we created simple workflows and sound libraries to make your project feel cinematic in minutes.
"Rare Finds was always gunna be a creative outlet for me to share my passion in sound with the world. With a growing list of projects, brand collaborations, sound libraries, team members and mates on social media, it's actually coming true. I'm truly grateful for all the support and friends I'm making along the way.
As always, big loves and peace out everyone. Cheers."
