Screeches & Bowing

Friction Guitar - Free Glove Scrapes & Bowed is a small mini sound library to help you create giant radioactive lizard roars.

These high-pitched screeches and long sustained notes are perfect for layering terrifying creature vocalisations, monster roars, animal growls and more.

What's Included?

A small collection of Acoustic Guitar Friction Sound Effects, including:

Intense high scraping screeches and long detuned bowing.

All sounds are delivered as ready-to-use WAV files with UCS metadata, so they drop straight into your workflow and are easy to search.

  • How it was made

All sounds are recorded from an Acoustic Guitar with one string, capturing high pitch friction textures and low sustained bowed notes. Using a golfing glove coated in rosin and a cello bow.

  • Equipment used

    • Zoom H5s audio recorder
    • LOM MikroUcho & Ultrasonic Horn

Sounds vs Files

Instead of hundreds of files, this library uses "string-based" audio files, meaning:

  • Multiple sound variations are embedded in each file
  • Faster browsing in tools like Soundly
  • Easier layering and iteration

So you spend less time searching, and more time designing.
